Data Handling Register
What this website processes, what the briefing tool keeps local and how to raise a privacy request.
Effective: 1 January 2026
Responsibility and contact
Puzzlewhistlejolt Field Systems Ltd is responsible for personal information handled in connection with this website and research correspondence. Registered office: 63 King Street, Norwich, NR1 1PH, United Kingdom. Company number 16309582. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions.
Website access
Delivering a web page involves processing technical request information, such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time. Hosting providers may process this information to deliver the site, diagnose faults and protect against abuse. Our legitimate interests are operating a reliable and secure information service.
The site does not include advertising pixels, analytics libraries or social-media embeds in its page code. Photographs, styles and scripts are served as local site resources. See the cookie register for information about browser storage.
The local briefing composer
Typing in the Contact composer does not submit a form to a server. Its script creates a preview in browser memory. It does not save drafts in cookies or localStorage. Refreshing or leaving the page may discard the draft; your browser may independently offer form restoration.
Copying uses the device clipboard when permitted. Downloading creates a plain-text file on your device. You control those copies and should remove them when no longer needed, especially on a shared device.
Email correspondence
If you email us separately, we receive your email address, message, attachments and related email metadata. We use that information to consider the enquiry, reply where appropriate and maintain a record of relevant editorial corrections. The usual basis is our legitimate interest in managing research correspondence. Where a legal obligation applies, we may retain information to meet it.
Keep messages relevant and avoid sensitive personal data or information about other people without a proper basis. We do not sell correspondence or use it to build advertising profiles.
Recipients, retention and transfers
Hosting and email service providers may process information on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. Where international processing requires safeguards, applicable data-protection requirements must be met.
We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, a relevant editorial record or a legal requirement. Technical records should be limited to operational and security needs. A deletion request will be considered against any lawful retention obligation.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Rights are not absolute. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Contact the research email above without sending unnecessary identity documents.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or another competent supervisory authority. This notice may change when the site's processing changes; the effective date will identify the applicable version.
